The past few months have been very busy for myself and have fallen behind on a few things here on the site. This is not my full time job nor do I put this before my job and personal life so please keep this in mind as that would be appreciated.

If there is anything that you would like to ask feel free to post it here. Please comment on what guides need clarification or guides that you wish to see.

  1. Regarding number 4 in your last post.
    > 4. Complete upgrade guide using Clover.

Is it safe to upgrade on a GA-Z97X-UD7 TH?
First backup everything, next upgrade clover first, then upgrade OS, finally fix the Nvidia driver. Is there anything else that I am forgetting?

PS The mathematic captcha on this comment is pretty neat.

  2. Usb guide for Sierra?

  3. With USB 3.0 I have to disconnect then reconnect for it to work.

Running on Sierra with a 3930k R IV E. Used all your files to setup, it’s the only thing I have an issue with.

    • Same here. Tested several kexts with some working when first connected however when un-plugged and re-plugged in the devices would not reconnect so for the time being we have left the kext on the DMG.

  4. Any update on sound card project?

    • Have 3 different sound cards right now. The HT Omega only has optical working still. One is a No-Name card with ALC 889 and works well with everything but inputs (detects when plugged in but not sound is recorded) and the other is a Asus add on card with ALC892 which nothing works but mapping is correct (could be the same issue that MSI motherboards had back with LGA 775 that they needed a resistor added to the Audio Circuit to make it work under Mac OS X.)

  5. Is the current DMG working with sierra? I am running Asus X79-Deluxe.

  6. Hello, I have an X79-UD5 Gigabyte board running no DSDT, Just SSDT on 10.12.1; every thing works. I only had on issue with USB ports, not sure if it was 3.0 or not. One of them just stopped working while I was operating the computer. Been running for a month now or longer.

Found some post running a similar board on 10.12 I followed. Mainly it was his SSDT I used, Just had to Follow your Graphics section for nvidia, added a few more lines to use 3-4 displays on my GTX 760 and that was it. Do you want to take a look in case there’s something you can use ?

    • Not understanding what issues you are/could have with the SSDT for your board from the DMG. From what I think I am understating is you did NOT have our SSDT ever installed as the code you think you added is in the SSDT already and you don’t have to do anything.

  7. With the issues with the mem map on X99 systems is there any guidance on 2 nvidia video cards for these builds?

  8. Hellow: Andrew or any other Admin
I kindly ask for some help and insight, I cannot get the audio working on latest version of El Capitan as of 12/10/2016
    Hardware spec:
    MSI Z97 Gaming 7 (Latest BIOS v1.12)
    CPU: i7-4790k
    Ram: 16Gb Patriot Viper 1866Mhz
    GPU: AMD Asus 280X
    HDD: Samsung Evo 850 250Gb M.2 sata
Instal method is Clover EFI using the Haswell DMG files and instructions.
    Clover Version 2.3_r3949
So I’ve tried almost everything I could think of installed clover to EFI partition. HD audio is enabled in bios everything is how it supposed to be config.pls is from DMG. 4 kexts installed copied to Clover/kext/10.11 (fakeSMC, And Ethernet LAN). SSDT.aml from Haswell DMG is copied to Clover/ACPI/patched . Here is where the problem begins. Downloaded the Audio Patch file through the link and according to instructions unzip the 120-something.comand(perl script) like always then open with Textedit and FIND/Replace HDEF with HDAU then click replace all and save script. Ok Cool done then run the script. First it says that Chameleon/Clover install undetected confirm (something-something) install : (y/n) so I say “y” and press enter. Next line says
Error: no IOReg/HDAU; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem
    No system files were changed
To save a Copy of this Terminal session: Terminal/Shell/Export Text As …
    Saving session…
    …copying shared history…
    …saving history…truncating history files…
However when I try to run the unmodified perl script with HDEF it asks confirm ALC1150 so I say “y” and press enter the next line then is.
Audio ID: 0 is not supported, continue (y/n): y
Pressing yes does not ask me to inject clover id to 1 even though EFI is mounted using (diskutil mount disk0s1). None of the scripts detect Clover install. So I confirm other install method on all.
Running the stock command file with HDEF in the script recognizes the codec and audio id: 0 then forcing the patch does download and patch AppleHDA but no sound.
So I try to manually set config.pls to audio id “1” through clover configurator. DMG config.pls is set to detect. But OS does not boot just goes into a boot Loop. I’ve also tried to set config.pls audio ID to 2 and 3 same thing does not boot. I am out of ideas what is the problem I wonder if MSI changed the device call sign from HDAU to something else in the latest 1.12 bios but how can I check that. Please help and guide me what am I missing.
By the way audio patch worked on Yosemite with modified script to HDAU however BIOS was older aswell. I think 1.10 or something.

  9. Correct, I used an SSDT from another hackintosh user over http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/315489-gigabyte-x79-up4-macos-sierra-success/lo

UD5 is whta I have. Just posting incase you want to have a look. I realize you guys know what your doing 😀

On a other note, Would the X99-UD4 with an m.2 SSD be a good replacement for my x79-UD5 ?

  10. What about external GPU support??

  11. I have a GA X79 UP4 Board USB freezes/stops working when i try to enable USB 3 in the BIOS. Any ideas or should I just give up on USB 3 on this board?
Used clover to install and nothing exotic installed other than the Nvidia drivers.

  12. Hello, I have Gigabyte X99 Gaming 5P motherboard, 16GB DDR4 Ram, I7 6800k (Broadwell-E), 4GB GTX 980.
I have followed your guide, but my pc restarts when i select drive where mac os will be installed, Mac os setup never starts, I am stuck at clover bootloader, i have tried various boot args, but nothing helps.
I have another pc which has i7 930, mac os works without any issues on it. Thanks a lot in advance
